Who we are

Chizgi (“we”, “us”) operates the Chizgi mobile apps and the website at chizgi.app. Questions about privacy: contact@chizgi.app.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the product:

• Account details — email address, display name, and authentication identifiers from Sign in with Apple or Google when you choose those options.
• App content you create — notes, highlights, quotes, vocabulary items, and review progress tied to your account.
• Device and session data — a device identifier for secure sessions, platform (e.g. iOS), and app version.
• Newsletter email — if you subscribe on the website, separately from an app account.
• Technical logs — limited server logs (timestamps, error codes) used to keep the service reliable and secure.

How we use information

We use your information to provide and improve Chizgi: authenticate you, sync your library across devices, send account emails (verification, password reset, welcome), operate the newsletter if you opted in, and protect against abuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your notes to train third-party AI models.

Sign in with Apple and Google

If you sign in with Apple or Google, those providers share an identifier and, when available, your email and name according to the permissions you grant. Their own privacy policies apply to data they hold. We store what we need to create and secure your Chizgi account.

Where data is stored

Account and synced content are stored on our cloud infrastructure (currently hosted with reputable providers in the EU/US regions configured for the project). Some data may remain on your device for offline use.

Retention

We keep account and library data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal data associated with it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for security, legal, or billing obligations.

Your choices

You can update profile details in the app, unsubscribe from the newsletter via the link in those emails, and request account deletion. Email contact@chizgi.app if you need help accessing, correcting, or deleting your data.

Website analytics

The website uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people open and which shared links they followed, such as a link from Instagram. Google receives usage data: pages viewed, a general location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and a cookie identifier. We use this to understand how the site is used. Children

Chizgi is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be noted in the app or by email when appropriate.
